Welcome to the Special Collections & Archives
ArchivesSpace is the central guide and catalog for the University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Special Collections & Archives. Through this platform, you can access and browse our finding aids to discover unique and primary source materials for your research. These include photographs, documents, audiovisual content, ephemera, and other artifacts that document the history of the university, its students, faculty, staff, and surrounding community dating back over 100 years.
In addition to collecting University materials, we also steward the Lake Superior Maritime Collection and serve as the Area Research Center (ARC) for Douglas and Washburn counties.
Once you’ve located a collection or item of interest, or if you have questions about using the ArchivesSpace interface, please email us at archives@uwsuper.edu to schedule an appointment to view the materials in person or request a digital copy.
Please note that our integration of ArchivesSpace is new as of January 2025 and we are continually adding new items and collections. Many artifacts are still being cataloged, so if you can’t find what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to reach out. We can search through our unprocessed materials for you.
